What is a Carbon Footprint?
A carbon footprint measures the total greenhouse gas emissions produced directly and indirectly by an individual, business, event or product.
In simple terms, a carbon footprint is an alternative measurement of your level of efficiency to carry out an activity.
Why Carbon Footprint?
Knowing your carbon footprint allows you to:
1) Understand the environmental impact of your activities.
2) Highlight areas of inefficiencies within your business (such as energy efficiency) allowing you to explore ways to mitigate these ‘hot spots’. Along with the environmental benefits this can bring; this can also provide significant cost savings to your business by helping to make your business more efficient.
3) Promote a positive, environmentally conscious company image
4) Provide a marketing opportunity to boost the marketing of your business or a product.
